Viselli Ties School Record In loss

Freshman Hits Seven Three-Pointers

Waterbury, Conn. – Freshman Nicole Viselli (Groveland, Ma.) tied a school record with seven made three-pointers - and scored a career-high 21 points - but it wasn't enough as the Eagles dropped a hard-fought 85-77 decision to Dominican in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game.

The Eagles, who have lost three straight games, are now 5-15 overall and 5-6 in the CACC. Dominican is now 9-11 overall and 7-4 in the CACC.

Post and Dominican played dead even for the first ten minutes of the game, as the teams were tied at 24 for the first ten minutes of the game. During that stretch, freshman Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) scored seven points and Viselli hit her first two threes of the game. Sophomore Jessica Ayala (Middletown, N.Y.) also hit a three during that span and junior Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.) scored six points during the stretch.

The Chargers pulled away in the final 10 minutes of the half, closing on a 26-10 run. Viselli scored 12 points, all on three-pointers in the first half. Acklin scored 10 of her 16 points in the first half. Acklin would finish with a double-double in the game, adding 10 rebounds to her performance.

Post fought back in the second half, as they were able to cut the deficit to five points with 3:40 left after Ayala, sophomore Dericka Sims (Chesapeake, Va.) and Childs-Harris scored on consecutive possessions. However, the Chargers were able to hold off the Eagles during the final few minutes to secure the victory.

Childs-Harris finished with 17 points and nine rebounds and Ayala scored a career-high 12 points.

Lisa Bouffard led the Chargers with 23 points and Lashonda Hathorne scored 21 points. Deja Gabbidon had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Up next for the Eagles is a road CACC road game at Goldey-Beacom on Saturday at 1 p.m.
