Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University Eagles women's basketball team dropped its second straight game, a 100-77 defeat from the hands of Southern Connecticut State University, out of the Northeast-10 Conference.

With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 3-5 overall, but are still 3-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Junior Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.) led four Eagles in double figures with 20 points. Freshman Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) scored 16, senior Jacquelynne Pugh (Grahamsville, N.Y.) scored 15, and sophomore Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) scored a career-high 11 points.

The Owls jumped out to a 14-7 lead early, but the Eagles were able to keep things close for most of the half, getting to within four points (34-30) with 5:58 left after a jumper by freshman Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.). The Owls would then go on a 13-6 run the rest of the way to go into the half with a double-digit lead.

In the second half, the Owls started to put the game away, scoring the first 11 points in the half to go up 57-36 with 17:50 left in the second half. The Eagles wouldn't get much closer the rest of the way, unable to close the deficit to less than 20. SCSU shot 60.5 percent in the second half.

Childs-Harris was relentless in the second half, constantly driving to the hoop and scoring 13 of her 16 points in the half.

Jackie Beathea led the Owls with 16 points. Taylor McLaughlin scored 14 points and Sydni Lester scored 13.
