WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team looks to bounce back after a lopsided defeat on Saturday as it returns home to play Dominican on Tuesday night. The Eagles have won three out of their last four games and are currently in fourth in the CACC North Division.

The Eagles had their three-game win streak snapped on Saturday as it fell at Holy Family. Seniors
Stephen Perry Jr. (Westhampton, N.J.) and
Jerry Cummings (Queens, N.Y.) led Post with 15 points each. Cummings also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Senior
Josh Tatum (Greenville, N.C.) nearly had a double-double with nine points and eight boards.

Post stuck with the Tigers for the first eight minutes of the game. Cummings hit a jumper off a pass from Willis with 12:07 left in the first to cut the deficit to 15-13, but the Eagles would never get closer. A three-pointer by Khiry Hankins sparked a 14-2 Tigers' run that broke the game open. Holy Family led 51-29 at the break.

The Eagles couldn't get on track in the second half as Holy Family led by as many as 45 points before it was all over.

Scouting the Chargers
Dominican is second in the CACC North Division at 12-5 overall and 8-2 in conference play, but is just 2-2 in its last four games. The Chargers are led by Nick Smith who leads the conference and is fourth in Division II at 24.8 points per game. Smith also shoots 62.4 percent from the field which also leads the CACC. Dominican is the highest scoring team in the conference at 80.9 points per game.

The Eagles are 13-8 against Dominican since 2003. Last year Post defeated the No. 25 Chargers 81-65 for its first win over a nationally ranked opponent in four years.

Juggling The Lineup
Post has used seven different starting lineups this season and a total of 12 players have made at least one start.
Derrick Strong has started 16 of the Eagles' 17 games, only coming off the bench in the opener against Southern New Hampshire.
Travis Carbajal and
Devin Willis are the only other players to start more than eight times.

Effrin Ellison is second in the CACC with a 46.3 shooting percentage from behind the arc.
Derrick Strong is second in the conference at 2.4 steals per game, which is good for 15
th in the nation. Post is leads the CACC with a 37.0 shooting percentage from distance and is second at 7.4 steals per game. The Eagles are 44
th in the country with 8.5 threes made per contest.

Coming Up Short
Out of Post's losses this season, six have come by just a combined 20 points. In two of the games, the Eagles had a last-second chance for victory. Against Bridgeport, Post had possession with 0:04 left in an 87-85 defeat. Last time out against LIU-Post, the Eagles had two chances in the final three seconds before falling 67-66. Post hit two late shots against Nyack to send the game into two overtimes, but came up short 106-101.

Honored For Defensive Prowess
Derrick Strong was named CACC Defensive Player of the week on Dec. 9 and Jan. 20. Strong tied a career-high with six steals in Post's 79-50 victory over Concordia on Jan. 14. The senior also had six steals in Post's victory over Wilmington on Dec. 7. He is the second Eagle to receive the honor this season after
AJ Harris on Nov. 11. In his Eagles debut against Southern New Hampshire on Nov. 9, Harris recorded seven steals, which was the highest single-game total since the 2006-07 season.
