WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team will have a tough task on Saturday to extend its winning streak to four games as it visits Holy Family. The Tigers leads the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division with an 8-2 conference record. Game time at the Campus Center in Philadelphia, Pa. is set for 3 p.m.

Post won its third straight game on Wednesday night with an 81-60 victory over Felician to improve to 5-11 overall and 5-4 in conference play. Senior
Derrick Strong (St. Louis, Mo.) was 6-of-8 from the field and led all scorers with 19 points and seven rebounds.

The Eagles never trailed on their way to victory. With the score tied 4-4 early, the Eagles staged a 17-7 run to jump in front 21-11 with 9:00 left in the half and never looked back. Senior
Mike Manning (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored five points during the stretch. The Golden Falcons cut the deficit to seven with 4:32 left in the period, but Post answered back, outscoring Felician 12-2 to close out the half.

Stephen Perry Jr. (Westhampton, N.J.) off a baseline pass from classmate
Devin Willis (Seattle, Wash.). The Eagles led by as many as 24 points before it was over.

Scouting the Tigers
Holy Family leads the CACC South Division at 14-5 overall and 8-2 in conference play. The Tigers have won their last six games, most recently a 73-70 buzzer-beater victory over Wilmington on Thursday night. Alberto Munoz leads the team at 13.8 points per game. Holy Family is one of the top defensive teams in the country and leads the nation in opponent's field goal percentage (36.2%) and blocks (109). The Tigers also allow just 61.3 points per game, which is good for fourth in Division II.

Coming Up Short
Out of Post's losses this season, six have come by just a combined 20 points. In two of the games, the Eagles had a last-second chance for victory. Against Bridgeport, Post had possession with 0:04 left in an 87-85 defeat. Last time out against LIU-Post, the Eagles had two chances in the final three seconds before falling 67-66. Post hit two late shots against Nyack to send the game into two overtimes, but came up short 106-101.

Honored For Defensive Prowess
Derrick Strong was named CACC Defensive Player of the week on Dec. 9 and Jan. 20. Strong tied a career-high with six steals in Post's 79-50 victory over Concordia on Jan. 14. The senior also had six steals in Post's victory over Wilmington on Dec. 7. He is the second Eagle to receive the honor this season after
AJ Harris on Nov. 11. In his Eagles debut against Southern New Hampshire on Nov. 9, Harris recorded seven steals, which was the highest single-game total since the 2006-07 season.
