Box Score

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Post University men's basketball team won its first game of the year on Wednesday night in an 81-70 victory over Concordia in its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener. Junior Mike Manning (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Eagles with 18 points and six boards.

Post had five players in double-figures. Senior Derrick Strong (St. Louis, Mo.) scored 15 points and added six rebounds. Senior Travis Carbajal (Oklahoma City, Okla.) and junior AJ Harris (Inglewood, Calif.) each chipped in 13 points.

After falling behind 9-3 early in the first half, the Eagles used a 14-2 run to pull ahead 17-11 with 15:11 remaining in the period. Senior Jerry Cummings (Queens, N.Y.) capped off the run with a dunk. The Clippers kept it close for most of the half, but seven straight points by Manning put the Eagles in front 36-28 at the break.

Post led by double-digits for most of the second half. Concordia cut the lead to 64-58 with 4:25 remaining but could not get any closer as Manning quickly scored five points to extend the Eagles' lead.
