BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Post University men's basketball team concludes a four-game road trip on Tuesday night, when it travels to Concordia in a battle for second place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division. The opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Over a span of 2:46 to close the first half and open the second half, Holy Family used a 13-0 run to claim an advantage Post could not overcome. In the final 96 seconds of the first half, the Tigers scored eight consecutive points to take a 41-32 halftime lead. Eric Fleming hit a pair of three-pointers to close the first half.
For the eighth time this season, the Eagles were led by senior guard
Josh Lopez (Anchorage, Alaska), who scored 21 points. Lopez shot 5-for-8 from three-point range and 6-for-11 from the field overall. He added eight rebounds, three assists and a steal. Junior guard
Jake Wilcox (Kent, Wash.) notched his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 13 assists. He did not commit a turnover in the game.
A RARE FEAT ACCOMPLISHED AT POST:
In Saturday's loss at Holy Family,
Jake Wilcox recorded 13 assists and no turnovers. His assist total is tied for sixth in a single game in Division II this season. Wilcox is one of three players in Division II this season with 13 assists and no turnovers. The other two are Josh Magette of Alabama-Huntsville and Cameron Joyce of Northwood (Mich.).

Senior guard
Josh Lopez of the Post University men's basketball team was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Lopez is the first member of the men's basketball team to be lauded by the conference this season.
Lopez led the Eagles in scoring in both games last week, with 20 points at Felician in a 75-72 victory, and 21 points at Holy Family on Saturday. Against the Golden Falcons, Lopez hit a pair of free throws with four seconds remaining to push the Post lead to three points. For the game, he shot 50 percent from the field. At Holy Family on Saturday, Lopez shot 5-for-8 from three-point range, and 6-for-11 from the field, to go along with eight rebounds, three assists and a steal.
SERIES HISTORY:
Since the 2006-07 season, Post has maintained a 3-3 record against the Clippers. Prior to Concordia's sweep of last season's meetings, the Eagles won three straight against the Clippers during the 2010 calendar year. Post notched a true road win at Concordia, a 77-68 decision on Jan. 19, 2010.
TIGHT GAMES ARE TELLING:
In games decided by three points or less this season, Post boasts a 4-1 record. The Eagles have earned one-point victories over Bridgeport (Dec. 19 - 79-78), Queens (Jan. 2 - 71-70) and Nyack (Jan. 12), while a three-point margin decided the contest at Felician (Jan. 18). The lone loss came against Dominican in double overtime (Jan. 5 - 74-73).
SCOUTING THE CLIPPERS:
Concordia was picked to finish sixth overall in the CACC North Division Preseason Poll, but currently stands in second place in the division with a 5-4 conference mark. As a team, Concordia leads the CACC in scoring with 77.5 points per game and ranks second in rebounds per game with an average of 40.6 boards per outing. Individually, Argelix Gil leads the Clippers and is tied for the top spot in the conference in scoring with 19.3 points per game.
ON THE HORIZON:
On Thursday, Jan. 26, the Post University Athletics Department will partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to present a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) basketball doubleheader between the host Eagles and the Caldwell Cougars. The women's game will tip at 6 p.m. at the Drubner Center, while the men's game will follow. All fans are encouraged to wear black. Coaches and student-athletes will wear blue shoelaces to commemorate the event.
