NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior guard
Josh Lopez (Anchorage, Alaska) of the Post University men's basketball team was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Lopez is the first member of the men's basketball team to be lauded by the conference this season.
Lopez led the Eagles in scoring in both games last week, with 20 points at Felician in a 75-72 victory, and 21 points at Holy Family on Saturday. Against the Golden Falcons, Lopez hit a pair of free throws with four seconds remaining to push the Post lead to three points. For the game, he shot 50 percent from the field. At Holy Family on Saturday, Lopez shot 5-for-8 from three-point range, and 6-for-11 from the field, to go along with eight rebounds, three assists and a steal.
The Eagles will wrap up their four-game road trip on Tuesday night at Concordia. Tipoff in Bronxville, N.Y., against the Clippers is set for 7 p.m.
