NYACK, N.Y. – The Post University men's basketball team held off Nyack and notched a 75-74 win at Bowman Gymnasium Thursday night. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Eagles, and pulled their record to 3-3 in league play. The spurt was sparked by a Lee jumper off a Wilcox pass. At the 6:46 mark, Krishner, who scored the last five points of the run, gave the Eagles a 28-15 lead. Post did not allow a Nyack field goal during the run, a string of five missed attempts by the Warriors.
Post grew its first half lead to 14 points on a
Geraldo Fernandez jumper with 3:55 remaining in the opening stanza. The score after his make was 32-18 in favor of the Eagles. At the half, Post held a 39-28 lead on the host Warriors.
The Warriors used a 12-2 run at the start of the second half to pull as close as two, 44-42, with 16:02 remaining in the game. Nyack took a temporary one-point lead on a Benjamin-Pena three-pointer at the 10:03 mark. However, on the next possession Wilcox hit a jumper with 9:32 to play to give Post the lead for good.
