WATERBURY, Conn. (December 28, 2011) After a two week break, the Post University men's basketball team will be back in action as they travel to Dominican, NY for the James Clancy Memorial Tournament. The Eagles ended 2011 with a thrilling victory against Bridgeport and hope to keep the momentum heading into the new year.

Scouting the Knights
Queens College comes into the tournament having lost six of their last seven and four games in a row. The latest defeat came at the hands of Caldwell, 82-68. Senior forward Khalil McDonald is a force for the Knights. He leads the team with 16.8 ppg and grabs 8.3rpg, which is good for third in the East Coast Conference. They are one of the better defensive teams in the ECC, giving up an average of only 68.8 ppg to their opponents.

Scouting the Golden Lions
The Eagles will face Dowling College, another ECC member, in their second game. The Golden Lions still have games against Caldwell and Nyack, before the tournament kicks off next week. After starting the season off losing three straight, they have rebounded to win two of their last three. Guard John Merchant is the offense for Dowling, averaging 17.5 ppg. They are good defensively, holding their opponents to just 63.5 ppg and stealing the ball over nine times per contest.

Tournament History
This is the second time the Eagles will be playing in the Clancy Tournament. The last time came in 2009 as they were defeated by Bridgeport, 77-68, before taking out Queens the next day, 88-73. Queens has been involved in each of the past five years and has a record of 6-4. This is Dowling's first appearance in the event.

Krischer For Three
Guard Zach Krischer has been a sharpshooter from distance this season. His three-pointer against Bridgeport with 13 seconds remaining was the difference in the Eagles 79-78 victory. Krischer has shot at a 45.8% clip from behind the arc, good for seventh in the CACC. His 22 made threes rank him eighth in the conference. The sophomore's intensity and clutch shooting has helped keep the Eagles in games this season.
