Connecticut native Robert Zurzola joined the Post University Athletic Training Department in August 2023 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. He covers the Football, Baseball, and Cross Country teams.Â
Zurzola's background in the athletic training field has been extensive since he began back in October 2021 in which he was an athletic training student for the University of New Haven's Football and Men's Basketball programs in which he provided acute care to athletes with musculoskletal injuries.Â
From there, Zurzola continued to gain experience at Hamden Hall Country Day School and Cheshire High School in which he continued to work on various musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation plans along with providing the necessary care during the injury process to help athletes return to the playing field.
Most recently before his arrival to Post, Zurzola spent three months working with the Men's Basketball as well as the Men's and Women's Lacrosse programs at Western Connecticut State University. There, he worked to document patient examinations as well as rehab plans along with performing rehabilitation programs for athletes with ACL reconstruction surgery and implementing injury prevention plans.
In December 2021, Zurzola earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Southern Connecticut State University before getting his masters in Athletic Training from the same university in May 2023.Â
