A 2024 graduate of St. Bonaventure University in New York, Leah Lockwood joins Michael Vesci's Athletic Communications team as a Graduate Assistant for the 2025-26 athletic year while pursuing her Master of Business Administration.Â
Coming from Upstate New York, Lockwood brings a diverse background in sports on the social media and production side of the coin. Starting small in 2021, she was the Social Media Manager from the @HeatUpdates social media channel, which boasted over 100,000 followers at the time and provided updates to fans of the National Basketball Association's Miami Heat on a regular basis. This led her to eventually start her own content page on TikTok in 2022 called the @HVTWPodcast (Heat vs. the World), leading a group of content creators to build the channel to over 650,000 views over the course of that summer.Â
Continuing her work in social media in addition to her TikTok page, Lockwood interned for the Newark Pilots of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, and, similarly to her other social media ventures, was tasked with growing the Instagram and Twitter (X) platforms via game-day, in-game, and off-the-field content creation.
While at St. Bonaventure, Lockwood worked for a year as a Graphics Operator for the school's ESPN+ streams at athletic home events, editing graphics in real time and creating statistic-related graphics as the games went on for the school's Men's/Women's Soccer, Men's/Women's Lacrosse, Men's/Women's Basketball, Baseball, and Softball broadcasts. She also served as the SBU-TV Sports, Bonnies Basketball Now On-Air Host and Social Media Manager in their first year of production, helping to co-found their social media platforms while providing analysis on the school's athletic programs.
Most recently, before coming to Vesci's team, Lockwood spent a year at WeTheHobby as an On-Air Personality, a company that specializes in sports cards and live pack openings, which she did regularly in eight-hour shifts with over 10 different co-hosts and a live chat.Â
Lockwood currently resides in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and will graduate with her Master of Business Administration from Post University in the spring.
