Post University Athletics

Alexandra Hartzell joined the Post University Athletic Training Department as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in July 2025. Hartzell is in charge of the Women's Ice Hockey and Women's Lacrosse programs. 

Hartzell comes from Marlton, New Jersey, after attending Rowan College at Burlington County from 2018-21 in the School of Nursing before graduating in May 2025 with her Master's in Athletic Training from Rowan University. Before delving into the Athletic Training field, she spent a total of nine years working as a Resident Assistant for the Wiley Christian Retirement Community, providing assistive care to those living in the facility.

On the Athletic Training front, Hartzell got her start in 2023 working with Cooper University Healthcare, helping physicians with image diagnosis, care instructions, and aiding in patient treatment throughout the spring. That same fall at Rowan, she began her first residency with the athletic department's Women's Volleyball and Men's Basketball programs, learning about concussion testing and return-to-play protocols with the volleyball team, while focusing on post-operative rehabilitation, injury diagnosis, and facilitating healing. 

Completing her second residency in the spring of 2024, Hartzell shifted gears to Eastern Regional High School, working with the electronic medical record systems for documentation and performing skin checks for the school's wrestling programs. In the fall of that same year at Rowan, Hartzell worked with the football team, assisting with pre- and post-operative rehab for ACL injuries while gaining knowledge in the various equipment the sport requires as part of her first fellowship. 

Before her graduation in May 2025, Hartzell finished her second fellowship with the Princeton University Women's Basketball, Spring Football, and Women's Track & Field teams, learning more about stress injuries, utilizing blow flow restriction for new rehab techniques, and creating post-operative plans for ACL and hip labrum tears. 

Hartzell is a certified Athletic Trainer as of 2025, along with being CPR/AED certified, a professional rescuer, as well as an active member in the National Athletic Trainers' Association and part of the Athletic Trainers' Association of New Jersey since 2023.
