Joseph Newman was named the inaugural Women's Flag Football Co-Head Coach in May 2025.

Newman is no stranger to Post University, holding several positions on the main campus since 2011, in addition to working with the Sprint Football program for five years. Starting as a Student Finance Specialist and working his way through financial aid and into the athletic space as a Student Finance Specialist for Athletics, Newman began his start in athletics at Post in 2015 as the Sprint Football Offensive Line Coach.

In his three seasons holding the role, Newman netted two All-CSFL Selections with one First Team All-CSFL Selection and an All-CSFL Honorable Mention. Promoted to Head Coach in 2017, Newman's squads accumulated 1,000 hours of community service in 2018 after netting 700 hours in his first season, while he also helped the team capture their first win in four years along the way.

Over his three seasons at the helm of the program, Newman had 18 All-CSFL Selections in the form of four All-Academic Team selections, four All-CSFL First Teamers, three All-CSFL Second Teamers, and seven All-CSFL Honorable Mentions
