Meet the Staff - Kevin Joyce


Kevin Joyce joined the Post University Athletics Staff in August of 2010. Joyce brings over 15 years of athletic training experience to Waterbury. In his role at Post he will serve as Assistant Athletic Trainer and the Strength & Conditioning coach for the Eagles’ 19 varsity athletic programs.
 
Joyce is responsible for the design and implementation of the strength and conditioning programs for sprint football, softball, women’s volleyball, women’s basketball and women’s lacrosse. He monitors the in- and off-season workouts for the collegiate sprint football team. 
 
Prior to his stint in Waterbury, Joyce was the Head Athletic Trainer for the State University of New York at New Paltz from Jan. 2008 – Feb. 2010. He oversaw the coverage as well as all other athletic training elements for the Hawks’ 15 varsity athletic programs.
 
Joyce held Assistant Athletic Trainer positions at Elmira College and SUNY Plattsburgh. At Plattsburgh, Joyce also served as the strength & conditioning coach. During his time at Plattsburgh, Joyce co-founded the Plattsburgh State Strength & Conditioning Camp. Serving as an instructor, Joyce taught local high school athletes proper procedures for strength and conditioning training. He also designed programs for participants to use following the conclusion of the camp.
 
In additional to his posts at colleges and universities, Joyce has worked at numerous events. He served as an athletic trainer at the Empire State Games for four summers from 2004-08. Joyce was named the head athletic trainer for the NYSAHA Developmental Camp in July 2004 and the Powell Brothers Lacrosse Camp in 2003.
 
Joyce holds certifications with the American Red Cross for CPR For the Professional Rescuer and Community First Aid and Community CPR. He is an accredited clinical instructor and a certified athletic trainer as deemed by the NATABOC. Joyce holds valid licenses in Connecticut and New York.
