Joseph Taylor

Joe Taylor was named Post University head sprint football coach in January 2016. Taylor spent the previous three years with the Navy sprint football team, two as the Offensive Coordinator. He also played with the Midshipmen varsity football team from 2005-09.
 
In his three years with the Navy sprint football team, the Midshipmen were 18-3 and captured the 2014 Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Championship. Navy led the conference in total offense at 377.4 yards per game in 2015 and has had the league's top rushing attack in each of the last three seasons. Running back Eric Wellmon was named CSFL MVP in 2014. Taylor spent his first year on the staff as the quarterbacks coach.
 
"My goal at Post is to maximize the potential of these young men both on and off the field. I look to grow them into leaders at the university and in the community. We also want to win some games along the way," said Taylor.
 
Taylor was a four-year letter winner for the Navy football team and played quarterback, safety, and outside linebacker under head coaches Paul Johnson and Ken Niumatalolo. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
 
After college, Taylor spent a season as the quarterbacks coach for the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, R.I. before heading off for Marines training.
 
With the Marines, Taylor was a Motor Transport Platoon Commander and Logistics Advisor at Camp Pendleton in California and in Afghanistan.
