Prior to Post: Lopez-Tavares was a two-sport athlete at Johnston Senior High and competed in the basketball and track & field teams. He helped lead the basketball team to back-to-back playoff appearances and the RIIL Division 2 regular season and Central Division Championship in the 2015-16 season.
