Alicia Knox was officially named the Head Cheerleading Coach at Post University in September 2022.
Knox was a key figure in helping launch the Post University cheer team, helping create a club cheer team at the institution in 2016 as a student. During her time as an undergraduate at Post, the 2018 grad was the captain of the cheer team which was eventually approved as an athletic sport.
Upon her graduation with a Bachelor's in Psychology, Knox continued her education in 2019 while also becoming the Assistant Cheerleading Coach at Post for the last four years. Shortly before being appointed as head coach, Knox completed her Master of Education at Post in May 2022 and in August 2022 began pursuing her Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership.
About her role in athletics, Knox said, "As a Post University Alumni, obtaining my undergrad and graduate degrees with a B.A. in Psychology and M.Ed., cheerleading has also been a long-term project for me as an aspiring sport at Post University. I have cheered for a decade, volunteered as a coach, and have had the opportunity to be an assistant coach at Post and now head coach. With so much to accomplish and feeling so fulfilled in this position I look forward to recruiting the best athletes in the state and across the country to build a Cheer empire at Post U, in the years to come."
