Study Hall

 
Study hall will go into effect the week of Monday, Sept. 17.  This policy is mandatory for student-athletes year round, whether the student is in season or out of season. The main purpose of study hall is to enhance the educational performance of the student. Required hours should be used wisely, and students who fail to comply with this policy will be subjected to disciplinary action. The following study hall guidelines MUST be followed:
  • ALL freshmen and transfer students must complete four (4) hours per week (First semester).
  • Students with a GPA of 2.75 or below must complete four (4) hours per week.
  • Seniors with a GPA of 2.50 or below must complete four (4) hours per week.
  • ALL students with a GPA of 2.00 or below must complete six (6) hours per week.
  • Head coaches can set their own grade-point average to ensure the academic success of the program.
 NOTE: Any student who achieves a grade-point average higher than the above numbers, WILL NOT be required to fulfill any documented study hall hours for the following semester. However, students with GPAs higher than the above numbers can still use the study hall if they wish.
 
Procedures
  1. Pick up designated study hall timesheet for the week every Monday by noon. Timesheets will be posted outside the athletic office in the Drubner Center.
  2. Timesheet must be with student at study hall locations.
  3. Student must record the accurate time when they enter study hall and have the worker at the front desk initial the timesheet.
  4. Students must record the accurate departure time from study hall and have the worker at the front desk initial the timesheet.
  5. Students are responsible to drop off their own study hall timesheets the following Monday by noon outside the athletic office in the Drubner Center. NO EXCEPTIONS! Timesheets will not be accepted after noon.
NOTE:
  • All head coaches will be forwarded timesheets on a weekly basis
  • Students who fail to comply with study hall procedures and choose not to complete their required hours will be subject to disciplinary actions.

Disciplinary Action
Students who fail to comply with Post University’s athletic academic policy, including but not limited to study hall procedures, will immediately result in disciplinary action handed down by the head coach, and may result in punishment from the Athletics Director as well.
 
NCAA Eligibility Requirements
All student-athletes must meet satisfactory academic progress in order to maintain their athletic eligibility according to the NCAA. The current guidelines are outlined below:
 Students entering their second season of competition must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours and a 1.80 grade-point average.

  • Students entering their third season of competition must have completed a minimum of 48 credit hours and a 1.90 GPA.
  • Students entering their fourth season of competition must have completed a minimum of 72 credit hours and a 2.00 GPA.
  • Upon the completion of 90 credit hours a student must maintain a 2.00 GPA.

NOTE: Students placed on academic probation by the institution will not be eligible for game competition.
