Seven Eagles Named to CACC Weekly Awards -- Kehl and Maunders Lead Way with Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week Honors

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Another big week of awards for Post University Athletics saw seven Eagles named to this week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Award slate, headlined by freshman attacker Cameron Maunders taking Rookie of the Week for Post University Men's Lacrosse and sophomore midfielder Caryss Kehl being named Defensive Player of the Week for Post University Women's Lacrosse, who also saw senior midfielder Claire Greene named to the CACC Honor Roll. Both Post University Softball and Baseball each had two CACC Honor Roll recipients as well, in freshman right-handers Hector Cuevas and Justin Hascup, as well as sophomore right-hander Meghan McGurk and sophomore infielder Angelica Tompkins, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Caryss Kehl - CACC Defensive Player of the Week - Women's Lacrosse
Nearly setting a program record for Post, sophomore midfielder Caryss Kehl had six caused turnovers against Felician University over the weekend and seven ground balls as part of a week in which she had a team-high nine caused turnovers to go along with 11 ground balls, six draw controls, one goal, and one assist for two points in a 1-1 week for the Eagles, who fell 15-10 on the road to Caldwell University.

Cameron Maunders - CACC Rookie of the Week - Men's Lacrosse
Maunders led the Post offense to a 1-1 week, scoring seven goals and adding an assist for a total of eight points. Maunders scored five goals and tacked on an assist in a 14-13 home win for the Eagles against Holy Family University at home, after scoring twice against #15 Molloy University earlier in the week.

Claire Greene - CACC Honor Roll - Women's Lacrosse
Greene extended her hat trick streak to four straight games as she scored six goals against Felician University in a 14-6 weekend win for Post after having four goals in a 15-10 road loss to Caldwell University earlier in the week. Greene closed with 11 points, adding an assist on Saturday, while also having four draw controls and a caused turnover.

Angelica Tompkins - CACC Honor Roll - Softball
Tompkins hit her way to a .667 batting average this week, going 8-for-12 with a double, her first collegiate home run, four RBIs, and five runs batted in as Post went 2-2 in conference play against Chestnut Hill College and Caldwell University. Tompkins finished the stretch with three multi-hit games, and she now holds a .475 batting average on the year.

Meghan McGurk - CACC Honor Roll - Softball
McGurk threw the first no-hitter in Post Softball history this week as the Eagles went 2-2 in conference play with a sweep against Chestnut Hill College before falling in both of their games against Caldwell University. McGurk spun seven innings in a 7-0 win against the Griffins, allowing no hits, while striking out a career-high eight batters on 98 pitches, walking three, and hitting a batter in what was also her first collegiate win. McGurk closed the week, throwing a team-high 12 ½ innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits with 10 strikeouts and seven walks.

Hector Cuevas - CACC Honor Roll - Baseball
Cuevas had a stellar outing for Post, nearly throwing six no-hit innings against Lincoln University in Thursday's doubleheader. Cuevas allowed just one hit with two outs in the sixth inning against the Lions, finishing with a career-high 10 strikeouts to go along with one run on one hit with five walks as the Eagles won his start in seven innings, 11-1.

Justin Hascup - CACC Honor Roll - Baseball
Hascup dominated on the mound against Lincoln University in his lone start of the week for Post, picking up his third win of the season. Hascup threw seven shutout innings, allowing just four hits while striking out five and walking four in what would be a 5-0 win for the Eagles on Saturday against the Lions.
