NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- Hoping to head into the final week of its inaugural season on a six-game winning streak, Post University Women's Flag Football ran into a stout St. Thomas Aquinas College defense at Kaplan Field in the afternoon cap of the road trip, falling to the Spartans, 31-6, in Newburgh, New York, on Sunday. At 8-5, no matter what happens next weekend, the Eagles will finish their first season of competition with a winning record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior quarterback
Delia Kotsaftis had the only score of the game for the Eagles, rushing for a 21-yard score late in the fourth quarter with Post already trailing 31-0, as the offense netted only 196 total yards of offense, 113 of which came on the ground. Kotsaftis finished 12-for-17 passing for 83 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions, along with one sack.
Freshman quarterback Chloe Ahorrio was the offense for the Spartans as she did it all in the air and on the ground, making herself responsible for all five touchdowns that St. Thomas Aquinas College scored in one way or another. Ahorrio was 4-for-13 passing for 65 yards and two touchdowns, along with one interception snagged by freshman defensive back
Wilma Fjall, but rushing-wise, she had 253 total yards for three touchdowns.
Sophomore wide receiver Alaila Thomas caught both of Ahorrio's touchdown passes, finishing with two receptions for 55 yards, while Fjall was the high man for the Eagles with one reception for 25 yards. On the ground, Kotsaftis led the way for Post with 56 rushing yards on 13 carries, including the lone touchdown of the 31-6 loss.
