LAKEWOOD, N.J. – A 43.9% shooting afternoon for Post University Women's Basketball which featured four scorers in double digits helped lead the Eagles to their second consecutive win overall and in conference play, 74-61, on the road against Georgian Court University on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore forward
Alyssa Rossignol led the way again with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting followed by freshman guard
Jasmine Day-Cox with 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting while hitting 4-of-5 free throws in the affair.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter would be owned by the Lions who jumped out to a 5-0 lead behind a three from junior guard Alexi Hoy who was followed up by a layup from sophomore guard Samantha Jones. Georgian Court's lead would grow to as many as eight points through the first three minutes and change behind four straight points by sophomore guard Niyell McCargo, 11-3.
The Eagles would never lead in the first 10 minutes of action, but Day-Cox and Rossignol would start a 4-0 run to cut the deficit down to four points, 18-14, heading into the second. From there, Post kicked off the next frame with six more points in a row, giving them their first lead of the game, 20-18, behind what would end up being a 10-0 run.
After a brief back-and-forth exchanging of the lead, free throws by Day-Cox would ultimately put the Eagles up for good as an 8-0 run gave them a six-point advantage and they never looked back from there. Freshman guard
Jackie Russell's three and Rossignol's three-point play put Post ahead by double digits, 34-24, and after a brief four-point spurt by Jones to end the half, Georgian Court cut their deficit down to five points, 36-31.
Twice in the third quarter, the Lions would pull within three points, but that would be the closest they got with the score in favor of the Eagles, 42-39, with 6:07 remaining. From there, four different Post scorers would make it a 13-point game following a 10-0 run. Leading by 12 points, 55-43, with 2:01 left following a three from senior guard
Naj White, Georgian Court ended the quarter on another small 6-0 run to cut their deficit in half heading into the fourth, 55-49.
Starting the fourth on a 4-0 run, Post regained their double-digit lead and never looked back en route to their 13-point victory, 74-61. In all, the Eagles had 24 free throw attempts in the game, making 20 of them for an 83.3% shooting day and forced the Lions to commit 37 turnovers which tied their season high. Georgian Court was 55.3% from the floor, making 26-of-47 shots while the Eagles made 25-of-57 shots for a 43.9% shooting afternoon in the win.

- Alyssa Rossignol led the team in points again, recording 17 points on 6-for-12 shooting to make it three straight games with double-digit points and six of her last seven finishing in double figures

Post University takes on Caldwell University in a road matchup next Wednesday at 5:30 PM as they look to get back in the win column against the Cougars after falling in their previous head-to-head matchup. After winning seven straight games against Caldwell, the Eagles fell to them, 73-69, on the road last February in conference play.
