Josh Tracey - Special Teams Player of the Week - Football
Tracey continued to lead Post University Football offensively this week against Pace University in the team's first-ever conference matchup in school history. For the second time this season, Tracey had over 100 kick return yards, going for 117 total and one touchdown which was on a kickoff return for 91 yards. The junior also snagged five receptions for 148 yards and a program record-tying 74-yard touchdown grab for the longest touchdown reception in school history while tacking on three yards rushing. In all, Tracey finished the day with 268 all-purpose yards, five receptions, two carries, two kick return attempts, and two touchdowns in the 23-21 loss for the Eagles. On Sunday, Tracey was named the New England Football Writers Association Weekly Gold Helmet Award Recipient for his efforts, making it the first time in program history a player from Post University has received that honor.Â
Alyssa Groves - Defensive Player of the Week - Women's Volleyball
Groves moved into second all-time for most career digs at Post University on the Women's Volleyball team after registering 83 digs in three matches this week for the Eagles. Groves averaged 7.55 digs per set after Post went 2-1 with two match sweeps over Felician and Roberts Wesleyan University before going to five sets against Saint Michael's College in their sole loss of the week. The junior also tacked on nine assists, five service aces, and two kills.
Caley Harper - Honor Roll - Women's Volleyball
Harper had her best week of the season for the Eagles during a 2-1 week for Post. Harper led the team with 41 kills on 98 attempts with only eight errors and a .337 attack percentage overall. The senior also tacked on 25 digs, five service aces, two assists, and two total blocks en route to accounting for 47.5 of Post's 168 points for the week. Harper attacked at a gaudy .462, a career-high, against Felician University in that three-set win for the Eagles before teeing off for 16 kills against Roberts Wesleyan in that sweep over the week with a .353 attack percentage. In the final match of the week against Saint Michael's, Harper added 11 more kills to extend her double-digit kill streak to three consecutive matches.
Felipe Garcia - Defensive Player of the Week - Men's Soccer
Garcia held down the back line for Post University Men's Soccer during their 2-0-0 week with a win over the University of New Haven and their first conference victory which came against Wilmington University on Saturday. Garcia started both games the Eagles played and totaled 153 minutes to help Post's defense which allowed just one goal in 180 minutes in a 1-0 shutout win as well as a 4-1 victory. Offensively, Garcia also added on an assist in the game against the Wildcats, helping
Francisco Sousa score the fourth goal of the afternoon.
Ricardo Moreno - Honor Roll - Men's Soccer
Moreno had a nearly flawless week for the Eagles in his first two starts ever in net for Post. Moreno played all 180 minutes and allowed just one goal in the 80
th minute of the second game of the week against Wilmington University while getting his first shutout as a member of Post in their 1-0 win over the University of New Haven last Tuesday. Moreno tallied up nine saves for a .900 save percentage and a 0.50 goals-against average to finish off the week.
