Men's Tennis Rolls to Second Straight Win Over Dominican (N.Y.) on Tuesday Afternoon

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- With the elusive first win behind them, Post University Men's Tennis could begin to focus on building off that victory over Chestnut Hill College on Monday at home. On Tuesday, that would do just that with thier second straight win of the season and second straight conference win of the year with a 6-1 victory over Dominican (N.Y.) on the road this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
For the first time this season, Post would sweep through the doubles with seniors Anton Andersson and Niklas Langenfeld taking care of business against sophomores John Bruno and Leonhard Fleisch in the #1 Doubles, 6-3, while the #3 Doubles easily went the way of sophomores Josh Cronje and Tobias Strauss, 6-2, over sophomore Jorge Catala and junior Ander Cantero Sadaba. Squeaking by in the #2 Doubles was junior Dante Despontin and graduate student Gustavo Kerber, who improved to 5-0 as a duo this season, with a 7-6 win which was won with a 7-5 tiebreaker victory over freshman Ali Zizi and senior Qaliab Bahadurali Ladhani.

Five of the six Singles matches went the way of Post as Andersson easily took care of Catala in the #1 Singles with straight 6-0 and 6-2 wins while Kerber and Ali duked it out in the #2 Singles only for Kerber to take a pair of sets by 6-3 scores. Earning his second straight win in the #3 Singles was Despontin with a near-sweep of Fleisch, 6-1 and 6-0.

Cronje would do the same to Bruno as Despontin did in his match, winning the #5 Singles with identical 6-1 and 6-0 scores as his teammate while junior Ivan Kolchanov was the victor in the #6 Singles over Cantero Sadaba, 6-4 and 6-2. The lone win of the match for the Chargers came in the #4 Singles as Bahadurali Ladhani lost set one,6-0, before winning set two, 6-4, and capturing the tiebreaker 11-9, in Post's 6-1 win over Dominican (N.Y.).
