Post University (6-13)
#24 Queens College (13-4)
HOW IT HAPPENED
A pair of 6-1 wins in the #1 and #2 Doubles were more than enough for the Knights to steal away the Doubles point from Post as senior
Oceane Mallevre and sophomore
Natalia Gonzalez Ramos were defeated, 6-1, as were juniors
Nina Langenfeld and
Megan Lombardt. Junior Saga Berggren and graduate student Maja Makal were the recipients of the #1 Doubles win while graduate student Eva Rivoal and sophomore Apolline Lamy took the #2 Doubles.
With a 6-2 victory, senior Ana Tarbujaru and graduate student Kyra Bergmann helped Queens sweep the Doubles, defeating graduate students
Annunciata De-Souza and
Julia D'Occhio in the #3 Doubles.
With a similar field going in the Singles, it was a straight sweep for the Knights starting with De-Souza falling in a pair of 6-1 sets to Rivoal in the #1 Singles which was also the case in the #6 Singles for D'Occhio against sophomore Kayla Taszymowicz. A straight sweep was in order for Lamy against Lombardt in the #3 Singles with a pair of 6-0 victories while junior Caroline Hany-Fawzy nearly did the same in the #2 Singles against Mallevre with a 6-2 and 6-0 win.
In the final two matches of the day, Langenfeld lost to Berggren, 6-3 and 6-1, in the #4 Singles while Gonzalez Ramos fell against Tarbujaru, 6-2 and 6-3, which rounded out the 7-0 sweep for the Knights.
