WATERBURY, Conn. -- As the CACC Tournament gets underway this evening with Post University Men's Basketball taking on Wilmington University at home in the Drubner Center at 5:30 PM followed by Post University Women's Basketball taking on Goldey-Beacom College at 7:30 PM, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's All-Conference and Major Awards release saw a trio of transfer players earn accolades.

Maya Klein was named Second Team All-Conference for Women's Basketball while junior shooting guard
Bol Akot earned Second Team All-Conference on the men's side along with junior forward
Deng Deang getting First Team All-Conference as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
For the women, the Second Team nod comes as no surprise for
Maya Klein as she finished with a team-best 13.3 points per game for a total of 345 points thus far in the season. The Sacred Heart University transfer averaged 27 minutes per game while shooting 43.1% from the floor and a team-best 42.9% from three-point range. In the regular season, Klein's 13.3 PPG was 13th-most in the conference while her field goal shooting placed her 16th overall, and three-point numbers netted her third in the CACC. The Stamford, Connecticut native also averaged 2.1 rebounds and one assist per game while totaling 19 steals and six blocks.
For
Deng Deang, his First Team selection for the Eagles follows his transfer from Southeastern Iowa Junior College in the NJCAA. Deang led the team in scoring with 15.8 points per game which ranked him seventh in the CACC while collecting 7.6 rebounds per game which was also seventh best in the conference. Playing and starting in all 27 regular season games for Post, the St. Cloud, Minnesota native collected seven double-doubles during the year while shooting just under 50% from the floor at 49.3% this season, ranking 16th in the conference and first on the team, and held a 30.3% shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Deang also made 75.8% of his free throws and had 427 total points during the year as well as 31 steals and 26 blocks.Â
Bol Akot, rounded out the trio of honorees with his Second Team finish after transferring from Quinnipiac University to become one of the top scoring options on Head Coach
Marc Kuntz's team. Akot finished the regular season having averaged 14.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game for the Eagles while shooting 42% from the floor in just under 32 minutes per game. The Manchester, New Hampshire native also shot 39% from three-point land and 73.2% from the free throw line which ranked him top on Post among those players with as many attempts as him. Akot was 13th in the CACC for points per game and also accumulated 400 total points while defensively forcing 45 steals and nine blocks this season.
Post University Men's Basketball is in action for the CACC Quarterfinals at the Drubner Center tonight at 5:30 PM against Wilmington University while Post University Women's Basketball takes on Goldey-Beacom College at 7:30 PM also in the Drubner Center. Admittance will be issued to Post students/faculty/staff who present their school-issued IDs while adults will be charged $10 and seniors/children/students will be charged $5 for entry.Â
