Orangeburg, N.Y. - The Post University men's tennis team completed its season-series sweep of Dominican University, defeating the Chargers, 5-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match.
The Eagles move above .500 and are now 7-6 overall on the season and 4-2 in the CACC.
The Eagles won the doubles point, taking no. 1, 6-4 as
Josh Cronje and
Gustavo Kerber defeated Guilherme Salim and Marcos Lee. In no. 2 doubles,
Lars Dukart and
Tobias Strauss won 6-2 over Ander Cantero Sadaba and Skylar Ross.
Kerber got his first win in singles no. 1 this season, defeating Salim, 6-3, 6-1.
Ivan Kolchanov won, 6-3, 6-3 over Ross in singles no. 3.
Samuel Rodriguez won in singles no. 5, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. Dukart won via default. Strauss lost a close singles no. 4 match in three sets, 6-7 (9-11), 6-0, 10-8.
The Eagles won all three matches against the Chargers (1-8, 0-7 CACC) this season and hold a 4-1 all-time series lead.
Post is back in action in CACC play on Tuesday in a road match against Chestnut Hill at 2 p.m.
