Eagles Soar To Program Record 14th Win In Regular Season Finale

WATERBURY, Conn. – Women's Basketball wrapped up the 2018/19 regular season with a bit of history – Earning their 14^th win of the season moves them into first place in Post University women's basketball history with 14 regular season wins.

The final game of 2018/19 also served as senior day for two special players: Gabriela Middleton and Lauren Chambers.

For Chambers, today marked her 50^th career game. She averaged 7.8 points in her Post career. This season, Chambers scored 17+ points on four different occasions, each time leading to a Post victory.

For Middleton, today marked her 100^th game as an Eagle. Middleton scored a total of 784 points and grabbed 159 steals as a four-year starter.

Team manager Ladarrius Phillips was also honored before the game. Phillips served as the team manager for one season and also played on the sprint football team for four years.

As for the game, Post received big time contributions up and down the lineup.

Melanie Polanco led the team in scoring with 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT).

Jessica DeGree tallied her third double-double of the year by scoring 11 points (4-9 FG, 3-4 FT) along with 19 rebounds (11 offensive). 19 rebounds served as a new career high for DeGree while 11 points ties a career high.

Lauren Chambers contributed 11 points (3-10 FG, 1-3 3PT, 4-6 FT) in the winning effort. Chambers also came away with two steals and five rebounds.

Gabriela Middleton racked up nine rebounds on the day to go along with five points and four steals.

Hannah Benac drilled two three pointers to help her get to eight points on the day.

The Eagles will take on Jefferson (26-2, 17-2 CACC) in the first round of the CACC Women's Basketball Championship. The game will be played at Jefferson on Tuesday, March 5^th at 7:30 p.m.
