Watertown, Conn. – Behind a 2-over par 73 by senior Anthony Guerrera, the Post University men's golf team sits in seventh place with a 21-over par 305 after the first round of the Post Eagles Invitational at Watertown Golf Club.
Guerrera sits tied for eighth. Classmate Ben McKenna is a shot behind Guerrera and is tied for 15th after shooting a 3-over par 74.
Assumption leads the team tournament after shooting a 7-over par 291. Southern New Hampshire is a shot back. Jared Mscisz of Southern New Hampshire leads the individuals at 4-under par.
Sophomore Felix Hinderthuer and Bill Koch both shot 8-over par 79 and Riley Card shot a 13-over par 84.
Playing as an individual, sophomore Sam Gaboury shot a 5-over par 76.
Guerrera was second in par 3 scoring, shooting even par. Koch made an eagle, one of only five made in the first round.
The second round is a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
