ORLANDO, Fla. – The Post University men's tennis team won its first match of the 2018 season on Tuesday night 8-1 over East Region rival Daemen. The Eagles are now 1-4 on the young season.
Seniors
Nikola Crvelin (Kaštel Lukšic, Croatia) and
Ludvig Henrikson (Taby, Sweden) grabbed and 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles to get the day started for Post. Juniors
Peter Rossel (Vienna, Austria) and
Jonathan Compres (Rockland County, N.Y.) defeated Tim Georg and Jose Williamson 9-7 at No. 3 to put the Eagles in front 2-1.
Post won all six singles matches in straight sets. Crvelin defeated Georg 6-2, 7-6. Compres earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Junior
Ivan Rajevac (Dubrovnik, Croatia) won 6-2, 6-4 over Rico Ruiz Martinez at No. 3. Sophomore
Samuel Urban (Košice, Slovakia) won his third straight singles match 6-4, 6-4 over Fabian Wilde.
At No. 5 singles, Rossel made quick work of Mark Veitengruber 6-1, 6-0 and sophomore
Joe Alvord (Southbury, Conn.) defeated Williamson 6-4, 6-0 at No. 6.
The Eagles are back in action today in Orlando against Our Lady of the Lake.
