The Eagles squared off against in-state opponent Southern Connecticut State University in game one of the 2018 University of Bridgeport Women's Basketball Classic. 

Post found themselves in an early 16 point hole after SCSU jumped out to a quick 22-6 lead in the first quarter. However, the Eagles fought back throughout the first half behind strong performances from Gabriela Middleton and Sha'Raya Haines. The two players combined to go 7-14 from the field for 20 points, six rebounds and four steals in the first half. As a team, Post shot a solid 46% (12-26) from the field in the first half but were plagued by 14 turnovers.

In the second half, the Eagles were able to cut down their turnovers (8), which allowed them to stay within striking distance of the Owls. Post put together their best quarter in the fourth, where they outscored SCSU 22-17. Jessica DeGree played efficiently in her nine minutes of second half action, scoring six points on 3-4 from the field, while grabbing two boards and one steal. 

Gabriela Middleton lead the Eagles in scoring (22), rebounds (6), steals (4) and assists (4) in 38 minutes of actions.
