Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University women's basketball team will head to The City of Brotherly Love as it takes on Philadelphia in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference road game on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Eagles are coming off of a 75-53 loss to Nyack on February 4, a game in which they trailed by just one point in the first half.
During that game, junior
Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.) led the way for the Eagles with 14 points. Sophomore
Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) scored nine and freshmen
Nicole Viselli (Groveland, Ma.) and
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) each scored eight points.
Post still looks poised to make the CACC tournament as it is currently in fourth place in the North Division with a 5-17 overall record and 5-8 record in the CACC. The top four teams in each division make the tournament.
Top Ten ListAcklin is currently eighth in the conference in field goals made with 110. She has also been able to get to the free-throw line at will, scoring 83 points from the line, which is fifth in the CACC. Defensively she has been a menace, as she has 45 steals on the season which is fifth in the CACC. Not far behind her in the steals category is freshman
Lexus Childs-Harris who has 41 steals on the season, which is seventh in the CACC.
Ram ToughThe Philadelphia Rams are having a great season thus far, as they are 15-4 overall and 9-2 in the CACC. They are in second place in the South Division. They were also the preseason pick to win the South Division. The Rams have a balanced scoring attack which is led by Najah Jacobs who averages 19.6 points per game. Bria Young is second on the team at 12.2 points per game and Monica Schacker is third at 12.1 points per game.
The Rams are coming off of an 81-63 loss to Bloomsburg in an out of conference game on Feb. 5. They had won their previous four games before that loss.
