Philadelphia, Pa. – The Post University women's basketball team's season came to an end as it dropped an 86-49 decision to USciences on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles end their season at 7-22.
Freshman
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) led the Eagles with 14 points, including four made three-pointers. Sophomore
Jessica Ayala (Middletown, N.Y.) finished with 12 points off of the bench.
Both teams traded buckets and leads early on before the Devils took an 11-9 on a Jessica Sylvester three-pointer. The Devils would then go on a 36-16 run to close the half and go into the break leading, 44-27.
Deren scored 11 of her points in the first half. Brianne Traub had 17 points in the first half for USciences.
The Devils were able to increase their lead early on in the second half and were able to put away the Eagles, going on a 20-2 run to begin the second half.
Junior
Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.) finished with six points for Post. Freshman
Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) had four points and seven rebounds.
Traub finished with 27 points and 11 rebounds for USciences. Sylvester finished with 15.
It was the first tournament appearance for the Eagles since the 2012-2013 season.
