Waterbury, Conn. – After a tough second half, the Post University women's basketball team dropped an 88-49 decision to Bloomfield Wednesday night at the Drubner Center.

Senior Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) led the way for the Eagles with 23 points. No one else scored in double figures for Post. The Eagles now stand at 9-14 overall and 9-8 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Post started off hot, jumping ahead 7-0 early before Bloomfield scored the next 13 points, taking the lead for good. The Deacons – who are in first place in the CACC North Division - would go up by as much as 14 points in the half before going into the break, up 43-32.

Latham had 11 points in the first half and sophomore Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) had scored seven points in the half.

The Deacons put the game away early in the second half, going on a 22-7 run to start the half, and eventually going up by 42 points before finishing the game with the 39 point win.

Freshman Dericka Sims (Chesapeake, Va.) came off the bench and scored nine points for Post. Griffin finished with seven points and senior Raven Wright-James (Middletown, Conn.) had six points.

Ivettlis Castro led five Deacons (16-8, 14-3 CACC) in double-figures with 16 points. Ilriana Lulgjuraj and Ariel Wilson both had 11.

Up next for the Eagles is a CACC road game at Dominican, scheduled for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
