Eagles Stay Undefeated In CACC Play

Waterbury, Conn. - Senior Jacquelynne Pugh (Grahamsville, N.Y.) scored 28 points, including going 5-for-6 from three-point range as the Post University women's basketball team remained undefeated in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play, as it easily disposed of Felician, 99-76 at the Drubner Center.

With the win, the Eagles improved to 2-3 overall and 2-0 in CACC play.

The Eagles fell behind 4-0 early on before scoring the next 12 points and ultimately take the lead for good. During the 12-0 run, junior Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.) scored six points and Pugh scored five during the run. Acklin finished the game with her second double-double of the year, scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. She also dished out four assists.

Post would increase their lead to 17 in the first half and would hold a double digit lead throughout most of the half and go into the break, leading 43-27. Pugh had 10 points in the half. Sophomore Liz Falcigno finished the half scoring 15 of her 16 points.

The Eagles were feisty defensively in the first half, holding the Golden Falcons to 31.03 (9-for-29) percent shooting for the half and causing 21 turnovers. Felician committed 33 turnovers in the game, and Post converted 42 points off of those turnovers.

Ashley Morris scored seven points in the half for Felician. She, along with Mary Chisholm, scored 19 apiece for Felician in the game.

Pugh got red hot in the second half, hitting 4 of 5 from deep, including twice on wide open looks from Falcigno on inbound plays. Pugh finished with 18 in the half. The Eagles would increase their lead to as much as 32 points, thanks in large part to easy fastbreak points.

As a team, the Eagles shot 51.2 percent in the second half, and 46.9 percent for the game.

Freshman Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Up next for the Eagles is a CACC home game against Dominican on Saturday, December 6 at 1 p.m.
