Preview: Eagles To Take On In-State Rival SCSU

Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's basketball team will play a rare Sunday night game as it takes on Southern Connecticut State University in a non-conference game on December 14 at 7 p.m.

The Eagles are coming off of a 77-44 loss to Saint Michael's College on December 9 in an out of conference game. Sophomore Liz Falcigno (Middletown, Conn.) led the Eagles with 17 points and freshman Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) had 11 points and 11 rebounds for her second straight double-double and third this season.

Post sits at 3-4 overall and 3-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Among The Best
Senior Jacquelynne Pugh (Grahamsville, N.Y.) is second in the CACC in three-point percentage at 54.5 percent.

The Eagles, as a team are tops in the CACC in steals per game at 13.1, which is 2.3 more SPG than their closest competitor. Pugh is seventh in the CACC in steals with 18 steals.

Junior Kristine Ripson (Youngstown, N.Y.) has jumped into the top five in the CACC in blocks at 1.4 blocks per game.

Giving A Hoot About The Owls
Southern Connecticut is out of the Northeast-10 conference where they are 4-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference. The Owls are in second place in the Southwest Division and have won three straight games, including a recent 67-61 win over Concordia of the CACC on Dec. 8. 

The Owls are led by Jackie Beathea, who leads the team at 14.2 points per game. Mariah Hankton is second on the team, averaging 11.4 points per game. Beathea's 12.1 rebounds per game is second in the conference. Maria Weselyj is fourth in the conference at 54.5 percent from three-point range.
