Waterbury, Conn. – – After a thrilling win over Dominican on Jan. 28, the Post University women's basketball team hopes to build on its solid play as of late as it takes on the Goldey-Beacom Lightning in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup at the Drubner Center on Feb. 1.
The Eagles are coming off of an 83-79 win over Dominican thanks to 27 points from senior Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.), a double-double for senior Raven Wright-James (Middletown, Conn.) – 16 points, 11 rebounds - and 19 points by sophomore Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.). Latham scored 12 of the team's last 18 points of the game to hold off the Chargers.
The win pushed the Eagles to 6-11 overall and 6-5 in the CACC, putting them in fourth place in the North Division.
Among The Best
Latham is still the leading scorer in the conference at 23.6 points per game. It is also good enough for fourth in Division II. She is also fourth in field goal percentage (53.3 percent) and fifth in three-point field goal percentage (40.5 percent).
As a team, the Eagles lead the CACC in scoring at 77.8 percent.
History Not On Their Side
The Eagles look for their first win against the Lightning since 2007, as they are 6-11 all-time. The Lightning have won seven straight games against them the Eagles, including their most recent game, a 63-42 win in the CACC tournament a season ago in Wilmington, De.
During that game, the Eagles fell behind by 20 points at halftime and never recovered. Latham finished with 20 points in the game.

The team's calling card is defense, having only given up 60.9 points per game, which is second in the CACC. They also protect the ball well, averaging just 15 turnovers per game, tops in the conference.
