Eagles Return To Action After Long Layoff

Latham Looks To Add To Point Total




Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's basketball team returns to action on Jan. 4 after a 17 day layoff as they play at University of Sciences in a CACC matchup. The Eagles look to bounce back from a two game losing streak, including their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss of the season at Bloomfield, 76-58.
In that game, senior Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) scored 20 points, inching closer to the all-time school record in points. Latham currently sits at 1,455 points in her career, trailing just Tracey Garofolo (Class of 2002) who finished with 1,510.
The Eagles are tied for second in the CACC North Division with Caldwell. Post is 4-1 in the conference, and 4-7 overall.
Leading The Way
Latham currently leads the CACC in two major categories. She is averaging 23.7 points per game and shooting at a 56.1 percent clip; both tops in the conference.
The Eagles, as a team, lead the conference in points per game at 79.9 points per game, which is over seven points per game more than their closest competitor. The team also leads in field goal percentage (43.4) and free-throw percentage (75.6) in the conference.
When They Last Met
The teams last met on Feb. 21, 2013 in Post's last game of the regular season. The Devils won the game, 75-53. In that game, Jacquelynne Pugh (Grahamsville, N.Y.) lead four Eagles in double figures with 16 points. Latham finished with 13. Brianne Traub scored 16 points to lead the Devils.
