Waterbury, Conn. – Senior Raven Wright-James had a double-double – 11 points, 10 rebounds - but it wasn't enough as the Post University Eagles dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup to Felician, 93-66 at the Drubner Center.
With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 5-10 overall and 5-4 in the CACC.
The game started out with the teams trading baskets for almost the first three minutes of the game, as they were tied 7-7. The Golden Falcons would then go on a 20-3 run to take a commanding 25-10 lead as they dominated the paint throughout the first half, outrebounding the Eagles 18-9 in the half and scoring 26 points in the paint to just 10 points for the Eagles. The Golden Falcons would increase the lead to 20 and the Eagles never got closer than 10 in the half before Felician went into the half with a 51-34 lead.
Freshman Liz Falcigno (Middletown, Conn.) led the Eagles in the first half with 12 points. Newly crowned all-time leading scorer, senior Aubrey Latham, finished with six points in the half.
Trina Plummer had a double-double in the first half for Felician, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The second half started much like the first half started with the teams trading baskets, but this time the Eagles were able to pull within 11 – 61-50 - with 10:55 remaining in the half. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the second half ended just like the first, as Felician went on a 16-7 run to take a 77-57 lead. The Golden Falcons would close out with a 10-0 run to finish with the 93-66 win.
Latham finished with 13 points for the Eagles. Falcigno finished with 14 points and six rebounds. Freshman Dericka Sims (Chesapeake, Va.) was a spark off of the bench, scoring 10 points.
Plummer finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds for Felician (8-9, 6-4 CACC). Ashley Morris scored 15. Felician outscored Post in the paint, 48-18. Felician scored 24 points off of turnovers to just 13 for Post.
