BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – With help from a season-best 62.2 percent shooting percentage, the Post University women's basketball team defeated Bloomfield, 66-57, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Tuesday night. The Eagles won their last three games against the Deacons and now sit alone in third place in the CACC North Division.

Monique Chance (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was 8-for-11 from the field for 18 points. She also grabbed 12 rebounds on her way to her eighth double-double of the season. Junior
Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) shot 7-for-9 and scored 23 points. Freshman
Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) added seven points off the bench.
After a back and forth first half, the Eagles took control with a 14-4 run to begin the second. Latham sparked the stretch with a three-pointer. Wright-James hit a quick jumper on the next possession as Post pulled ahead 40-32 with 18:01 remaining. Griffin stole the ball, drew a foul, and made two from the line to give the Eagles their largest lead of the night at 48-36 at the 12:39 mark of the second.
Seven turnovers during a stretch of 4:44 sparked an 11-0 run by the Deacons that cut the Eagles advantage to 48-47 with 7:55 remaining. Niiya Ruth and Shaniqua Bacote each scored four during the comeback for Bloomfield.
Post's hot shooting would not allow Bloomfield to draw any closer as the Eagles didn't miss a shot from the field over the final 10:23 and were 8-of-10 from the free throw line down the stretch.
The first half had five ties and three lead changes as neither team could gain an advantage. Latham gave Post an 8-5 lead at the 16:55 mark with four early points. After Bloomfield took control with a 9-2 run to pull ahead 19-15, Wright-James nailed a three to cap a 9-0 run that put the Eagles ahead 24-19 with 7:03 left in the half.
Bacote helped the Deacons tie the game 26-26 with five straight points. Post pulled ahead 34-28 before heading into the break with a 34-32 advantage.
The Eagles were 9-for-12 from the floor in and 11-for-14 from the line in the second half. Bloomfield forced Post into a season-high 27 turnovers and took 74 shots to the Eagles' 37. Post held a slim 37-34 advantage on the boards and outrebounded the Deacons 34-13 on the defensive glass.
Post returns home on Saturday, Feb. 16 for a CACC contest against Georgian Court. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m.
