PREVIEW: Women’s Basketball Looks To Pickup CACC Victory At Felician

Eagles Currently Sit Atop Conference With 2-0 Record

WATERBURY, Conn. - The Post University women's basketball team jumps back into action on Nov. 26 as it takes on Felician in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference road game.
 
In their last game, the Eagles dropped a tough 87-72 contest to in-state rival Southern Connecticut State University after leading at halftime. In that game, senior Aubrey Latham scored 21 points to lead three players in double figures. Sophomore Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) finished with 15 and senior Raven Wright-James (Middletown, Conn.) had 18. The Eagles now stand at 2-4 overall and 2-0 in the CACC. They are currently in first-place in the North Division.
 
Honored By The Conference
Aubrey Latham was named to the CACC Honor Roll this week after her performances in a 93-82 win over Nyack on Nov. 20 and a 87-72 loss to SCSU on Nov. 23. Against Nyack, Latham led all scorers with 30 points on 11-for-15 shooting. Last week, Latham was named Player of the Week in the CACC. Hailey Griffin was named Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 11.
 
League Leaders
Latham currently leads the CACC in points per game at 25.5 points per game, which is 4.5 more points per game than her closest competitor. Latham is also first in field goal percentage and third in three-point field goal percentage. Wright-James is fourth in three-point percentage and Griffin is seventh.
 
Closing In
Latham currently has 1,347 points in her illustrious career at Post, trailing only Tracey Garofalo (Class of 2002), who has 1,510 for the all-time lead.
 
Familiar Foes
The Eagles and Golden Falcons (1-5, 1-1 CACC) are not strangers to each other, having met 22 times in their history, tied for the most games Post has played against any other opponent. Felician holds a slight 10-12 edge over the Eagles, with Post winning the most recent matchup, 64-57 on Jan. 29, 2013. 
 
In the win, the Eagles erased a 20 point deficit after being down 34-14 in the first half. The Eagles closed the game with a 20-2 win to seal the victory. Latham finished with 25 points for Post. Here is a look at their most recent matchups.
