Eagles Open Up CACC Schedule At Concordia

Post Looks For First Win Of 2013-14 Season

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's basketball team opens up its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule this week when it plays at Concordia at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
 
Last Time Out
Last week, the Eagles dropped both of their games against Molloy (97-78) and Bridgeport (86-76). Sophomore Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) was named Defensive Player of the Week in the CACC thanks to her double-double against Bridgeport on November 10th, where she contributed 22 points and 12 rebounds (10 defensive) in the loss. She also grabbed 10 rebounds in Post's first game of the season against Molloy on November 9th. Senior Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) led the Eagles with 23 points to go along with eight rebounds. Junior Jacquelynne Pugh (Grahamsville, N.Y.) also contributed with 13 points and four assists. 
 
All-Time Series Against The Clippers
Last season, Concordia and Post split their two matchups, with Post winning at home, 70-59 on Nov. 20 , 2012. In that game, Latham caught fire, scoring 30 points and hitting six of her eight three-point attempts. Sophomore Toshina Jessamy (Hartford, Conn.) chipped in with 11 points for the Eagles. In an 84-70 loss on Jan. 15, 2013, Latham scored 21 points while pulling down six rebounds. Overall, the Eagles have dominated the series, as they hold a 9-2 edge.

Approaching The Record
Aubrey Latham became the fifth member of the Post 1,000-point club last season. This year she looks to become the all-time leading scorer in the Eagles' history. Last weekend she scored 40 points in Post's games against Molloy and Bridgeport.
