WATERBURY, Conn. The Post University women's basketball team staged a 17-0 run over the final 4:49 of the first half to take a 50-30 lead into the break, on their way to an 86-75 victory over Wilmington on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles are 3-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play for the first time in program history.
Post shared the scoring and had six players in double figures, led by graduate student
Monique Chance (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior
Jessica Webber (Naugatuck, Conn.) with 15 points each. Chance also grabbed 10 boards in the victory. Junior
Fernanda Mansilla (Ancud, Chile) dished out a season-high nine assists.

Raven Wright-James (Middletown, Conn.) hit from distance during the stretch as the Eagles led 50-30 at the break.
Post extended its advantage to as many as 23 in the second half after another Wright-James three-pointer put the Eagles in front 78-55 with 7:27 remaining. The Wildcats slowly chipped away at the deficit with an 18-6 run to get as close as 84-73 with one minute left.
The Eagles shot a season-high 41 free throws on the day and made 25 of those attempts. Wilmington had just 13 shots from the line. Post had 12 steals in the victory, led by Griffin with a season-high four thefts. The Wildcats were led by Tenicia Spence with 20 points.
Post will hit the hardwood again on Tuesday, Dec 4 at home against Caldwell. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
