Latham Powers Post Over Concordia

Eagles Boast Four Players In Double-Figures

BRONXVILLE, N.Y.- Junior Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) finished with 29 points as the Post University women's basketball team snapped its four-game losing streak with an 83-74 victory at Concordia on Tuesday, Jan. 24. The victory is the Eagles first away from Drubner this season.
 
Post grabbed momentum early, opening up a 13-7 lead at the 14:53 mark of the first. Back-to-back three pointers by Colleen Hanscom (Melrose, Mass.) and Latham push the Eagles advantage to 21-8 with 12:30 remaining. Post continued its hot shooting and finished 20-for-36 in the half on their way to a 46-23 lead at the break.
 
Latham went 9-for-11 from the field including 2-for-2 from distance in the first half. Her 22 points in the period were only one shy of the entire Clippers team total of 23. Concordia shot just 6-for-33 in the half.
 
The Clippers cut the deficit to 57-50 with 11:56 remaining, but wouldn't get closer as the Eagles came away with the road victory.
 
The 29 points for Latham tied a season-high, when she had 29 against Georgian Court on Nov. 16. Post had four players in double figures with Kelli Reynolds (Milford, Conn.), Hanscom, and Monique Chance (Brooklyn, N.Y.) rounding the scoring out with, 17, 16, and 10 points respectively.
 
Post outrebounded the Clippers 45-35 on the night and held a 20-11 advantage in bench scoring.
 
On Thursday, Jan. 26, the Post University Athletics Department will partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to present a CACC basketball doubleheader between the host Eagles and the Caldwell Cougars. The women's game will tip at 6 p.m. at the Drubner Center, while the men's game will follow. All fans are encouraged to wear black. Coaches and student-athletes will wear blue shoelaces to commemorate the event.
