Women’s Basketball Looks To Rebound Against Felician Wednesday Night

Eagles Eye Fourth Win Of Season In Rutherford

RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The Post University women's basketball team travels to Felician College on Wednesday, Jan. 18, for its second meeting with the Golden Falcons this season. The Eagles are searching for their second Central Atlantic Athletic Conference (CACC) victory of the year.
 
LAST TIME OUT:
Post is coming off a tough 71-65 defeat at the hands of Nyack on Thursday, Jan. 12. The Eagles led by as many as 14 points midway through the first half. Nyack battled back and pulled ahead with 5:59 remaining on its way to their first victory of the season. Junior Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) played well in the defeat. She scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Latham was awarded an honorable mention by the CACC for her efforts.
 
DIVISION II INDVIDUAL RANKINGS:
When the last NCAA Division II statistics were released on Jan. 12, Post had two individuals rank in the top-30 in two categories. Latham ranks eighth in Division II in free throw percentage. This season she is shooting 48-for-52 from the charity stripe for a percentage of 92.1 percent. Additionally, senior Monique Chance (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is 28th in Division II in blocked shots per game. She has gotten a piece of 29 shots, a mark of 2.2 per game.
 
SERIES HISTORY:
Post has struggled against Felician in recent years, and dropped the last five matchups between the two. On Saturday, Dec. 3, the Eagles led by five at halftime, before falling 80-74. Sophomore Colleen Hanscom (Melrose, Mass.) shot 3-for-6 from three on her way to 18 points. Their last victory over the Golden Falcons came in the finale of the 2008-09 season, as Post prevailed 65-62.
 
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN FALCONS:
Felician won three in a row before falling to Caldwell 70-68, on Monday Jan. 9. The Golden Falcons boast the leading scorer in the CACC in Destiny Barnette at 20.1 points per game. As a team, they average 68.5 points per game and allow 64.6 points per game to their opponents. Felician is the top rebounding team in the conference, grabbing 46.9 rebounds per contest.

ON THE HORIZON:
The Eagles will continue their four-game road trip at Holy Family on Saturday, Jan. 21. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m.
