NYACK, N.Y. - The Post University women's basketball team begins its four-game road trip on Thursday night at Nyack College. The Eagles look to rebound from a close home defeat on Saturday to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division-leading Philadelphia, 79-73.
Post held a four-point advantage at the intermission against the Rams, and led by as many as six points in the second half. In the loss, the Eagles were paced by junior
Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) who scored 22 points and shot 4-for-6 from three-point range.
Series History:
The Eagles are 3-7 in their last 10 matchups with the Nyack Warriors. Last season the teams split a pair of games. Post defeated Nyack at the Drubner Center, 84-72, on Dec. 11. The Eagles dropped a 55-33 decision at Nyack on Feb. 8.
Wright-James Off The Bench:
Sophomore
Raven Wright-James (Middletown, Conn.) has been a spark off the bench in the past two games. Against Dominican and Philadelphia she shot 64.7 percent from the field and 5-for-9 from behind the arc. She totaled 27 points for an average of 13.5 points per game. On the year, her average is 5.1 points per game. Wright-James was a force on the glass, and notched an eight rebound performance against Philadelphia.
Scouting The Warriors:
Nyack is still in search of its first win during the 2011-12 season. The Warriors stand at 0-11 overall and 0-6 against the CACC. The squad is led by sophomore forward Brandone Roberts, who grabs 9.1 rebounds per game, which is good for fifth in the CACC. She is third on the team in scoring with 8.6 points per game. Nyack ranks 13th in the conference in scoring, with 47.6 points per game. The Warriors allow 79.5 points per game to their opponents, which is also 13th in the CACC.
