WATERBURY, Conn. (February 15, 2011)—Robyn Burton scored 24 points, and Bloomfield College defeated Post University, 81-65, Tuesday night at the Drubner Center.

Burton was terrific for the Lady Deacons (17-6, 15-1 CACC), also coming away with 6 steals and proving why she has been one of the league's best defenders all season long.

Elizabeth Johnson led Post University(7-15, 5-10 CACC) with 14 points.

The Eagles closed the first half on a 16-3 run, cutting a 36-17 Bloomfield lead down to 39-33 at halftime. Kelli Reynolds ignited the charge, with 7 points and a steal during the run.

Reynolds finished with 12 points.

But Bloomfield answered with a 19-3 run of their own to start the second half, and never looked back.

Lady Deacons guard Tiffany McDaniel was outstanding, scoring 18 points and grabbing 8 rebounds for the Lady Deacons. Vanessa Lamison added 13 points for Bloomfield.

Mallorie Michalak scored 13 points for the Eagles, and Casey Brooks added 11 points.

The Lady Eagles return to action Thursday night when they take on Dominican College at the Drubner Center. Tip is scheduled for 6 pm.
