Women’s Basketball Drops In Bloomfield

Box Score

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. (December 8, 2011) The Post University women's basketball squad shot a season-low 27.3% as they fell to Bloomfield on Thursday night. The ladies have now dropped five games in a row and stand at 2-6 (0-2) on the season.

From the onset Post could never get it going as Bloomfield opened up a 13-0 lead. Monique Chance finally put the Eagles on the board with a jumper at 13:25, after they started 0-10 from the floor. Some shots started dropping for the Eagles as they scored 17 points in the final ten minutes of the half, but went into the locker room down 40-20.

In the second half it was much of the same for Post as they could never pull closer than 20. Bloomfield struggled shooting the half also at 26.1%, but made the most of their misses finishing with 35 offensive rebounds. Turnovers also hurt the Eagles as they had 27 in defeat.

Pugh led the Eagles with 12 points, four assists and Post's only made three-pointer of the night. Chance finished with seven points and eight boards. Aubrey Latham and Casey Brooks each had six points. Ivettlis Castro paced the Lady Deacons effort with 15 points.

Post will be back in action on Saturday as they head to USciences.
