Women’s Basketball Falls To Southern New Hampshire

Box Score

MANCHESTER, N.H. (December 17, 2011) The Post University women's basketball team was defeated by Southern New Hampshire on Saturday night in their final game before the holiday break. The Eagles have been unable to find the win column in seven straight and now stand at 2-8 overall.

Monique Chance scored the first two points of the game to put the Eagles ahead 2-0. The Penmen went on to outscore Post 19-5 over the next eight minutes to take a 19-7 lead.

A three-pointer by Taylor Doyle cut the deficit to single-digits midway through the first. The SNHU defense was too much for the Eagles, who turned the ball over nine times in the half. The Penman lead was 40-26 at the break.

Diaysha Brewington did all she could in the second half to try and pull the Eagles closer. She scored all of her team-leading 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the half. It was not enough as SNHU continued to pull away and led by as many as 25. A layup by Brewington with 8:30 left capped off a 6-0 Eagles run and made the score 62-45, but they wouldn't get any closer. Michelle DeRoma had 13 for the Penman in the 77-58 victory.

Aubrey Latham and Jacquelynne Pugh each finished with nine points. Brewington led all players with 13 rebounds. The Penman scored most of their points close to the basket, outscoring the Eagles 38-16 in the paint.

Post gets a few weeks off before returning to action at home on Thursday, January 5 against CACC-leading Dominican.
