WATERBURY, Conn (November 16, 2011) Aubrey Latham scored 29 points to lead the Eagles over Georgian Court on Wednesday night in their home opener. Post now stands at 2-1 on the young season.
The Eagles led by one at 15-14 with 13:20 left in the first half. They pushed the lead to 47-32 heading into the break. Latham shot 5-6 from the floor with 14 points in the half. Georgian Court cut the lead to 11, midway through the second half, but the Eagles were too much, claiming the 93-77 victory.
Monique Chance dominated on the glass with 15 rebounds, 12 defensive, to go with her four blocks. Latham also added eight boards and shot 9-10 from the line. Kelli Reynolds played well off the bench, finishing with 18 points and five rebounds.
Fouls were a problem for both sides in the matchup as they combined to shoot 87 free throws. The Eagles made 30 of their 43 chances from the line. Post also shot 46.2% from the field, sinking 30 of their 65 attempts.
The Eagles will travel to Washington Adventist for a matchup this Sunday.
