WATERBURY, Conn. (January 25, 2011)--The Post University women's basketball team dropped a difficult road game at league-leading Bloomfield College Tuesday night, 84-45.
As they've done all season long, the Deacons (11-5, 9-0 CACC) delivered several impressive performances in a convincing win.
Guard Ivettlis Castro led the way with 17 points. Vanessa Lamison added 14 points and 8 rebounds and Dre'Shonda Williams scored 14 points. Shanique Bacote had 10 points and 6 rebounds for Bloomfield.
The Deacons also took care of the ball, only committing 6 turnovers compared to 27 for Post University.
The Eagles (6-10, 4-5 CACC) were led by
Elizabeth Johnson, who had 16 points on 4-for-8 shooting. She also went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
Post University outrebounded the Deacons, 51-37, but were held down by 25 percent shooting from the field.
With the loss, the Eagles fall to 1-6 on the road this season.
Post University returns to New Jersey on Thursday to take on Caldwell College. Tip time is set for 6 p.m.
